I was digging in my yarn bin of acrylic yarns yesterday. I like to use these yarns for afghans, for some hats that I make to donate and other little things like …….cat toys. Yes, my cats are spoiled.
Lately I feel that I want to clear out some of my supplies. I have so much. I have decided to purge most of these acrylic yarns, but just donating them isn’t as likely to help someone as the item made from them.
I found a handful of granny squares that were from another abandoned project. I pulled them out, and came up with a new plan. I want to turn them into an Afghan to keep someone warm, but I don’t have enough yarn to complete one in different colors. Then I found a large ball of yarn from a other discarded project, nice plain white yarn. I added a fourth row of color and made a few more squares so I have twenty. I will add enough rows of the white to have a big block. I think these mismatched scrappy squares will end up looking pretty surrounded by white, and maybe I can empty one of my many, many bins!
Tonight I sat on the sofa and reached over to pick up my block, and saw this:
What a goofy little dog she is!
I am loving this block already!
